MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed yesterday that Apollo Quiboloy, facing allegations of child sexual abuse, was transferred to a children’s hospital in Quezon City for specific medical examinations.
Quiboloy briefly visited the Philippine Children’s Medical Center to undergo tests that require specialized equipment, according to Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, head of the PNP’s public information office.
After his tests, Quiboloy returned to the Philippine Heart Center, where he will remain until his court-approved medical furlough concludes on Friday, Fajardo reported.
He is expected to be back at the PNP custodial facility by 5 p.m. on Saturday.
According to Fajardo, the court denied Quiboloy’s request for visitation while he stays at the Heart Center.
Fajardo mentioned that the findings from Quiboloy’s medical tests are being sent to the PNP General Hospital but did not reveal additional information.
“We will provide updates once all the tests are complete and any developments will be directed by the court regarding Quiboloy’s status,” Fajardo said.
On November 8, a Pasig court granted Quiboloy a medical furlough due to reported chest pain.
Quiboloy currently faces qualified human trafficking and sex abuse charges in both the Pasig and Quezon City courts.
